I'm ALWAYS thirsty but not diagnosed with diabetes?

Basically, that's my problem. I'm ALWAYS thirsty.

It doesn't really bother me, other than the fact that I go through every liquid in the house like it's nothing. I don't know why though.

I know it's a symptom of diabetes, but I've been tested for that already and I'm not diabetic. I've been like this since I was a kid. Seriously, it freaks me out because everyone will be on their first glass of water, milk, juice, etc. and I will easily be on my 5th or 6th. Seriously, I don't know why I'm always so thirsty! Any ideas?

I am no doctor but i this is natural because a lot of people have these problems. Some sweat a lot and some are just always hungry. If you ask me, it is nothing to worry about. But if you do a lot of exercise not just physically but mentally too then that might be the cause. If you heart beats faster than needed or if you are energetic or things like that, you tend to drink a lot of water, although you don’t feel like you did anything. If i were you i wouldn’t worry.

I was never given sugar drinks as a child and I was always told to drink lots of water and so I did. Now I rarely go through a day without drinking at least 8 pints of water because if I do I always feel ill. Just accept that some of us have to drink more water than others to feel ok. Plus it’s supposed to make you feel healthy so I reckon it’s a good thing !!

Have you been tested for kidney problems? it sounds like your kidneys and internal organs aren’t holding liquids well. also check yourself for dehydration (well hydrated skin when pinched slightly should go back to how it was right away, dehydrated skin will stay in the pinched position).

Hey I am always thirsty too I have been checked for diabetes several times. When I was first born they said I took all my mom liquids (sure they didnt mean every drop) but they had to immediately give her an IV for it not sure what kind but she tells me this story all the time I feel like i remember it lol . I always drink alot. When my family and I are out to eat I will be on my 3rd glass beforethe food even comes out it always makes the waitresses mad. Also one time I was stuck in traffic and I got really thirsty I thought I was going to die. So since then I always keep water in my car even if its in my trunk. I just wanted to say this to tell u i feel what u going through and ur not alone. Also I never had problems with my kidneys ever. I actually am a healthy person, no major surgeries or ever been to hospital for anything big.
