My mom is a diabetic and has alot of pain in her feet. She has a sit down job, but her feet hurt her all the time. Her doctor has her on a medicine called Neurotin, but she can only take it at night because she gets so sleepy on it. I know that if she had a better diet it would help her. I also tell her to walk on the treadmill thinking that maybe getting some bloodflow to her feet will help her, but she says that makes them hurt worse and she can barely walk from the driveway to her front door. Does anyone know of some natural things, or even other pain killers, or anything that might help her with her feet. I have heard of diabetics having to get their feet cut off and i do not want it to come to that, please help!

What is gluton ? I have houseguests that will be coming and have learned that one person is following a gluton free diet. Do you know if there are things that I need to have on hand , so that I have some things / proper food / preparation procedure on hand ? Is there a gluten free store ? my grocery stores are international have a wide range. i can find sugar free / diabetic or fat free products … but i do not see labels / aisles for gluten free. i am not even sure if my regular bottled waters / soft drink selection will be okay. I would like to have some beverage and snack choices. I am not sure of where to plan dinners out ? restaurants that would have menus / options to accomodate this special dietary need. Is there a website / or reference you know that explains what sort of a diet this is ? I did not get the impression that this is like a low call kind of a diet / that this person needs to have this or they will become sick.

When I was a freshmen, I decide to become an ovo-lacto vegetarian, but since then I was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes. My doctors say that being diabetic can also affect your protein levels (?), and since I was a vegetarian, I already was working to keep my levels up. Since chicken has a lot of protein, I eat that once in a while. I **** to eat it, but it works better than soy when I am feeling sick. I try to stay healthy with the diabetes and vegetarian diet, but is ok for me to follow a vegetarian diet, but sometimes have to eat chicken? I refuse to eat red meat. I don’t go on rampages telling people they are evil for eating meat, I just prefer not to eat it. My friends call me a chickitarian, but can I still be an ovo-lacto vegetarian?
