Lower-carb diet and sleepiness?

I recently started reducing my carbs to help me lose a few pounds and better control my blood glucose; I’m a Type 1 diabetic. I’m not doing extreme Atkins, just trying to stay between 100-130 per day. But I’ve been so sleepy and lethargic since I’ve started it. I feel like I constantly need a nap! Is this normal? Is it something I’ll get used to, or is there a solution? I’m 41 and in otherwise good health.
Weight Watchers helped me lose a few pounds but then I was stuck at a plateau. I’ve lost another 4 lbs. with the lower carbs. And my blood glucose is much more stable, so I’d like to try to make it work.

Try increasing your fat intake. No it will not cause heart disease, unless you are still consuming trans fats. Try a tablespoonful of organic coconut oil. Great energy rush. I assume you are testing your BS. Less carbs, less insulin.
