Type two diabetes advice?

I L B C N U asked:

I’m curious. I’ve read quite a few Q&As on type 2 diabetes in this section. It seems there are a couple of regular women answerers here who have let their disease progress to where they have to take insulin, while there are a couple of guys who have worked there way off of all medications with diet and exercise. All four of them are top contributors in the category. My question is this: When asking for advice in this section, who are you going to believe? The two guys who have found their way off the medication through natural means, or the two ladies who clearly don’t have a clue and continuously cite rhetoric from old, antiquated doctors’ and nutritionists’ advice?

Need a low sodium dog food for my dog who has epilepsy & diabetes?

momof2 asked:

He is on a gluten-free diet so the dog food cannot contain glycoproteins of dairy, wheat, gluten, casein, soy, corn, MSG (monosodium glutamate), or aspartame. I would like to keep using his current brand, Nutro Natural Choice Adult Lamb and Rice Dog Food but he’s so thirsty afterwards-all day. I can’t afford to keep giving him chicken and rice so I need a low-sodium alternative. I’ve called the local pet stores, they don’t have anything. And I’ve looked online. The w/d diet is way too much $. 50.00 for a 30lb bag. So I really need help on this one. Any suggestions would be helpful!
I have asked my vet and he recommended the chicken and rice or the W/D diet. He always has access to water, but w/ constant access to water, he also has to urinate quite often. If we’re not home, he pees anywhere. Oh and he just had cataract surgery 2 weeks ago.
Both the diabeties and epilepsy are well regulated w/ consistent dosages of medication.

Please help me. Diet soda addiction. How to stop?

J R asked:

I have a very serious diet soda addiction.

It is to the point where I keep a 2 liter bottle on the night stand at night. I will seek out diet soda even when I’m not thirsty. My boyfriend knows that the way to win my affection is a bottle of diet coke on Valentines.

I grew up in an unhealthy diabetic household. All I drank growing up was diet coke, and I feel like I am now, at the age of twenty, hard-wired for drinking the stuff.

I don’t even enjoy the taste to be perfectly honest. I don’t understand why I continue to consume it in such great quantities.

I have tried countless times to quit, but every time I feel like I go through withdraws, to the point that I am shaking, with throbbing headaches, and every other thought revolves around getting a diet coke.

I dunno, I feel like something is wrong with me. How to can quit once and for all? Where do I get the willpower?

I poured all the diet down the drain. I have a stock pile of tea ready to go too.
